This is the last issue of the KD to be prepared by Pat Martin. We thank her for many years of quality work and keeping us informed.

Unfortunately nobody has yet stepped up to take her place beginning with the June issue. Surely there is someone out there who can and will step up to the plate - so Mark doesn’t have to take on that responsibility also!

Long-time Nation's Capital Chapter member Paul P. Shen, CMA, recently passed away. Dr. Shen, a professor at American University, was a prolific writer. A number of his manuscripts were published in Management Accounting, the predecessor journal to Strategic Finance. Paul won the chapter's Andrew Barr Award for the best article submitted for publication in 1990, in 1992, and again in 1994. The chapter has lost a strong supporter and a good friend. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Paul's family.
