Speaker Biography:

Peter Lauria is a partner at Baker Tilly (formerly Beers + Cutler) one of the nation’s leading public accounting and consulting firms. Peter is responsible for the leadership of the firm’s Business Information Systems Consulting practice. His focus is on information systems planning, financial system design, software selection and implementation, and technology and business process integration.  Peter has over 20 years of professional and industry experience in the areas of management and systems consulting, public accounting and financial management. Specifically, Peter has extensive experience leading business process transformation initiatives and organizational change management in connection with system implementations and IT initiatives. He has led numerous large scale implementations of financial system applications across a wide variety of industries and he has assisted his clients with designing effective business processes to meet key operational objectives.

 

In addition to his consulting experience, Peter has held key industry positions including chief financial officer and director of finance. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Peter was a Director at Arthur Andersen and he began his career in the audit practice at KPMG Peat Marwick. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from Guilford College and is a Certified Public Accountant. Peter currently serves on the Associates Board of Directors for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and on the National Governing Board of Common Cause. He is active in a number of business and charitable organizations nationally and in the Greater Washington DC metropolitan area and is a frequent speaker on various industry and technical subjects.
